Green Cargos with Stripes

I love how this looks today. I would have never though to pair this tee with green cargo's ( I have paired them with my regular khaki cargos and that looks nice too ). Got inspired when I saw the following:

Isn't it amazing that I had such a similar tee in my closet? Striped with studded design on it with a touch of red. Mine says "I 'heart' IST" which stands for 'I love Istanbul' which is the most famous city in Turkey.

I removed the fur trim from the wedge boots as this was a more summery look and fur would have looked odd with a short sleeve tee I thought.

Today's Activities: Another very tired morning. Daughter was up at night cause she can't breath well and had coughing spells. Had to hold her upright so she can sleep more comfortably. My son of coursed picked this morning to also wake up at 6 AM. I am surviving on coffee and tea today. Went to my daughter's premature infant follow-up appointment. She was born prematurely at 33.5 weeks so they do these evaluation tests on her to make sure she is normal and again she passed with flying colors. My son had to sit through the whole 2 hour appointment and was amazing well behaved. We left that office in such a mess that I felt bad for the nurse practioner. Since we were right in the neighborhood had 'Bronx Pizza' for lunch before coming home. Son did not nap of course and I barely got anything done. My husband took my son to the preschool graham cracker house decorating event. We were all supposed to go but since my daughter has a cold she can't be around other kids so we had to stay home. Later took my son to my mom's as the kids will be spending the weekend with them while we go to Vegas on an adult trip! Yeay! Kept my daughter home though as we don't want my mom and stepdad to be sleepless. We will drop her off in the morning before heading of to the airport.

Holiday Cheer in White Sheer

Isn't that a cheesy rhymed title? I couldn't resist though...
This is what I wore last night to our holiday dinner with my girls. Instead of buying each other gifts we treat ourselves to a nice dinner and get together instead. I have marked 7 dressy outfits to wear this month and this was one of them. It turned out a bit more conservative that I would have liked but oh well... Of course there is an inspiration photo behind it:

I actually like that my pants are darker green cause the green and white combo is different. I also like layering thin silk schiffon with fuzzy coat. The pictures are not good, you can't really see I feel the details.

The coat is super soft (rabbit fur) and very comfy. It was chilly even inside last night so it was perfect.

Added this white feather necklace which I bought on clearence from Bebe for $10 with this outfit in mind. My sister did not approve but I just love this necklace.

Here is the blouse without the coat. You can't really tell but it actually looked really cool with sheer sleeves. I wore a silk white camisole underneath. You can also see my big ring and bronze belt here as well. Forgot to take a close up photo of the accessories.

After trying 3 pairs of shoes with my mom and sister watching (they were over to help watch the kids) we decided these looked perfect. These are my prize possessions. They are by far the most expansive shoes in my entire shoe collection (and I have a big one). Their retail price was $1500 if you can beleive it!!! I bough them 50% off of sale over sale price at NYC's Century 21 store for $500. This again was in the days of me working with no kids and spending a lot on clothes. Unfortunately they are tough to pair with outfits so I have worn them so little.

Today's Activities: After that sleepless ER night woke up very tired. My son was at my mom's and since my daughter was sick she had to be excluded from all activities today. Met my stepdad at the swim school so I can drop off swim gear and clothes for my son and he took him to class while I did some shopping at Target with my daughter. They really have very cute clothes for kids. Bought a skirt that looked very similar to the one I had liked at gap but would never pay the price. Afterwards picked up my son and brought them home for a very healthy lunch. Did I mention my son is a very odd child who pretty much only likes healthy food. He picks diet food from restaurant menu's. Won't eat pizza unless it is some gourmet type with lots of veggies. We have to bribe him with broccoli for him to eat his pasta. When we had lunch after the play on Sunday he liked my seaweed salad so much that I had to order another portion. So for lunch I cooked sauteed mushrooms which he loves and a turkish dish of cold cucamber soup made with plain yogurt, grated cucambers and mint leaves. He gulped it up. My daughter of course wouldn't touch any of these items and only ate the chicken nuggets and handed me back the mushroom I tried to sneak into her mouth. After naps my my stepdad came over again to take my son to music class while my mom came to hang out with me and my daughter. Than my sister joined early evening so they all stayed to help my very tired husband with the kids while I went out to dinner with the girls. Even though I was tired once I got there I perked right up. I just LOOOOOVE spending time with my girls.

Dressed for all occasions from graham cracker houses to ER

Going very simple today. Messy day at the preschool so picked something that can be easily washed. Even this has an inspiration photo:

This was a tiny picture on a page. It caught my eye cause again I aleady own all these pieces. This tee is another maternity purchase. When I got pregnant with my son all I had in my closet when it came t-shirts were these tight and short tee's that hit right at my waist. All from Bebe. So even when I started to show a little I needed new tee's that were longer. Bought 5-6 from CLOSET all different colors. They were all v-neck and tunic length. They make the best layering pieces now.

The blazer jacket is again part of a suit. The crop cowl neck sweater is a very old piece I always love to wear.

These stir-up leggings are great when you wear all black socks and shoes as they stay put all day long.

Booties - Steve Madden

Today's Activities: I had all the intention of posting this last night and was almost done and about to post when I heard my daughter cry over the loud TV we were watching (I always can hear the kids). As she never gets up we rushed to find she was having hard time breathing. Freaking out called the nurse line and they told us to take her in. So woke up our sound sleeping son and started to drive to ER. She started breathing a bit better so we stopped at my mom's one the way to drop off my son. They said she had 'krup' (sp?) and gave her steroids to stop the inflamation in her sound cords. She is fine now. We are all a bit tired from going to bed past 2:30 AM! But earlier in the day we had a fun time at preschool assembling graham cracker houses which the kids will decorate on Friday. They were very hard to make but we had a blast (see photo below):

See how I brought my own apron from home so I wouldn't get frosting all over my clothes. :)

Winter White

A huge warning there are going to be lots of pictures in today's post. That is because I am catching up on 2 days and I wore 3 outfits in those 2 days. This is my 'Winter White' combo which I wore yesterday (Monday). The inspiration came from:

Although Iwas not happy with how the leggings looked. They just don't look right. I needed something a bit less clingy. Pants would have been better or more loose fitting leggings (if there is such thing). Or may be if I had thicker legs. So, love all thelayers on top but not happy about my bottom.

This is one of those looks where I actually went and bought/collected these items for the look. So these are all bought this season and all from Forever 21. I will obviously wear them in other combo's though.
The base layer is this oatmeal color babydoll top. It will be a great layering piece in many more outfits to come. It is also super soft, tissue thin and very comfy. The sequin tank top is a great piece to add a bit of bling to any outfit. I already wore this on our big night out.

These super cool earings were my recent purchase from Thread show. Love the wings. They look great on.

But I think the most versatile item in this whole combo has to be what I call my 'cream chunky cardigan', I will wear this again and again over many many outfits. It is very comfy. And looks very cool when I close the front as well.

All pieces from Forever 21 except for...
Booties - Victoria's Secret
Earings - Thread Show

OK, so you ready for more?
Here it goes...

OUTFIT #2

Very casual as you can see. Wore this outfit this morning. My best friend would call this somewhat of a 'bag lady' look and this time I might agree. But I was so sleep deprived (see below why) and this was one of the very very few items in my list that included ugg boots. I love wearing my ugg boots when I am tired. The pop of colors also cheer me up. Notice it is not sunny but I am wearing sunglasses? To hide the bags under my eyes.

Added this feather headband last minute when I realized no styling was going to fix my hair. I bought this couple years ago at another thread show. Thought I would wear it to my cousins wedding but decided not to last minute. Have never worn it until today. My kids kept asking if that was a bird on my head! :)

And this adorable bottle cap necklace is a purchase from 'December Nights' event we went to over the weekend. The artist said it can be an owl or a penguin when you turn it. I have a thing for owls so had to buy it. Looks so cool I think over this neon animal print tee.

Neon animal print tee - TJ Maxx
Purple leggings - express (bought at a bazaar in Turkey)

OK, so one more than I promise that is it...

OUTFIT #3

Loving this outfit. First of all it is very simple. Just a sweater, skirt and boots. Takes the same amount of time as putting on sweats, sweatshirt and sneakers. Might be even less since the boots are slip ons.

I feel so powerful in these boots. And they are sooo warm. However, they do make a BIG statement so there are very few events/places I can wear them to. Therefore they were perfect to wear it to my dad's to trim his tree! :)

These adorable earings are also a recent Thread Show purchase. They are made out of recycled old records! She had many different styles (arrows, stars and other hearts). I was drawn to these cause of the blue chain. They just pop!

This sweater is couple years old. I like the ruffle hem. This skirt however is super old. I must have got it during college. I have worn it so much and would never get rid of it cause even though it is super mini it is just so versatile and always in style. I even wore it to visit a native village by boat in the Amazon region! I fit right in with them. :)

B/W mini skirt - do not remember and don't recognize the brand

So, that is it. No more outfits...

ACTIVITIES: I have been driving myself insane trying to finish my snapfish projects of photo calendars and albums and other things as gifts. They take forever to create. I do love makng them but it is so time consuming and I had this great offer that was going to expire so I had to rush to finish as much as I can and order. Have been going to bed past 1 AM for 3 nights in a row and a about to collapse. Dealing with a toddler and preschooler all day when short on sleep does not make a good combination. To not repeat this next year I decided I am going to start all thse projects early in the year and add at the end of each month. That should make it a lot easier to handle. I still have to make our own annual album but that will have to wait. I am getting excited for our upcoming no kid trip to Vegas this weekend. It is only for one night but should be a lot of fun. We are going with 2 other couples. I got my nails done (thanks to my Dad babysitting) and colored my hair today. And even spent a few moments todays plotting some outfits so feel less stressed now.

Here are some photos from yesterday and today. I take these cause the kids insist on them while I am doing my photo shoot and I think it is so cute. This is the ONLY time they actually pose for the camera (kind of)!

Here is my daughter in front of my Dad's trimmed tree and with my brother....
I am totally lusting over his pants by the way. I love the new navy cameo navy has chosen.
