A Beautiful Grandmother!

This is a scheduled post while I am on our mini vacation to Manchester, NH visiting my husbands extended family!
As you know Thursday we had the major power outage all of San Diego county! My mom and I were all dressed up and ready to go to the Fashion's Night out Event at one of the malls here when the power went out.
We figured we should at least take photos of our outfits that no one saw!

So here is my beautiful Mother!
She was rocking in her shiny blue denim pants and animal print bustier!

The feather earrings were super cool!

Animal print wedges and her green toes!

Even the belt is animal print!

My Mother - The most confident woman I know!

And here are some photos from my packing...

My packing outfit spreadsheet:

You can see in the 'shoe' section I picked outfits that utilizes the same shoes and same top or bottom to minimize the items being packed.

Here are the Inspiration outfits photos of what I packed for the road:

Will post my actual outfits from these Inspirations when I return!

Get ready for Natasha from Required2beInspired tomorrow!

All Dressed up and in the dark

So our plans of attending the Fashion's Night out yesterday afternoon were totally spoiled!
Not sure if the U.S. readers have heard but we had a major power outage that effected the entire Southern California region starting from Orange County down south effecting my entire city!
As my mom and I were packing for my trip and getting ready we kept thinking it was just a short outage in our area. I never got to flat iron my hair! We left house and found out that it was the entire city. None of the traffic lights were working which made traffic insane. The malls were closed so there went our event.
We just made a u-turn and drove back home!
Mom and I at least took our photos of the outfits no one saw!
Her outfit photos will be in a scheduled post tomorrow...

Top - TJ Maxx
Pants, ring - H&M
Wedges - Soda from Marshall's
Clutch - Romwe
Necklace - Anthropologie
Earrings - Buffalo Exhcange
Bracelets - Ruche

Of course before this look I was totally casual running errands with the kids and packing. I decided to look just like my daughter so wore a (free people) dress same style as hers and croc like shoes and braided my hair and put it in low pig tails!

Well our flight indicates it is still on time so off we go!
I will be gone until Tuesday but stay tuned for a scheduled posts and some amazing lovely ladies who are guest posting for me in the days to come....

Early Morning Charm

Today's outfit was inspired by another JCrew photo:

I like this outfit cause it is super simple except you add the long pearl necklace and then it is just something unique!
This was at 6:30 AM believe it or not! I wish we were all lining up to get tickets to see some hip concert but no we got up early and got in line to get into a pre-school class. Which is why I picked an outfit that was warm in the morning but could be lighter when the heat hit later in the day. I have a tank top underneath.
I could have worn my black capri pants but they are a dry clean material and I opted to just cuff my skinny cargo pants instead which I can just wash in the machine.

I hooked up two of my pearl necklaces to create the longer knotted look.

 Cat eye sunglasses from F21.

Sweater - Forever 21
Pants - Target
Tank - From Turkey
Ballet Flats - Steve Madden
Pearls - Gifts from husband

TODAY:
So, yes I got up super early and lined up in front of the campus building before they even opened the building. By 7:20 there were 5 other mommies and by 7:35 (after the doors opened) there were already 15 of us. The class is only for 25-27 students (which are the adults but then each one has at least 2 kids so the number of people is quite high).
Anyway at the end most of my friends made it to the main list. There are 17 people on the waiting list though even after the teacher allowed 30 people to sign up.
My husband took the kids to my mom's and she brought them to class at the actual class start time. It was a crazy day though with way too many people and kids and no order. We survived.
After naps I had the kids swim again in the pool cause the heat wave is continuing and it is a perfect way for them exert energy without over heating. My son is swimming better and longer distances everyday. It really is a great exercise.

Lemon and Mint

Today's outfit was inspired by another JCrew catalog photo:

Except I am not really crazy with how it turned out. Oh well, not everyday is a winner.

I do like t he unexpected combination of yellow and mint with a touch of coral!
Wore the coral belt over the scarf tied at waist. The coral beaded necklace worn as a bracelet broke off in the middle of the day but I salvaged it.

 With my little princess...

Cardigan - Victoria's Secret
Blouse - Koton (from Turkey)
Shorts, scarf, belt and necklace/bracelet - Forever 21
Sunglasses - Anthropologie
Sneaker wedges - Roxy

TODAY: Woke up early today so we can sign up for the outdoor preschool class. Except the weather was awful and it started raining and there was no cover there. It is also one of the ugliest playgrounds. The kids did not seem to care but we hated it. So once we were sure we were on the roaster a group of us left for the free Museum Tuesdays and visited the science center. They had changed a lot of exhibitions so the kids had a great time and it was nicely AC'd in there. Then we came out and it was oh my goodness the muggiest weather ever. I don't know how some of you do it in heat but us in San Diego are just not used to it. We barely survived the lunch near the fountain and had to shower the minute we got home.
After naps invited my friend and her two kids over for kids to play with water then swim. We managed to have 4 kids swim without us getting in the pool! Had to sit right by and watch like a hawk but it was nice.
We then gave them a bubble bath and dressed in PJs then served them our combined leftoevers for dinner. It was great. Both our husbands were coming home late so it was the perfect plan.

Here are some photos from the Science Center:
