To all the girls

This was my outfit to a fun fashion bash with the girls.
The outfit was inspired loosely by this post of Bee from Atlantic Pacific:

The concept of wearing all black mini skirt outfit with edgy booties and accessories:

Jacket, Top, necklaces and bracelets - Forever 21
Leather mini - BCBG (great thrift find by my mom)
Booties - Michael Antonio
Purse 6951 (I probably always get this brand wrong cause I can never remember the sequence and too lazy to get up and look)

Here is a group photo of us at the Fashion Bash event:
Left to right: My mom, my sister, sister's friend, my girlfriend, girlfriend and me!

Since I always post so late in the day I decided to do my
Fashion Beauty Friend Friday
post today.

This Month's Topic is:
TECHNOLOGY!

1. What are the tools you use to blog?
Not quite sure what this means but I use google's blogspot. For someone who is not tech savy google sure makes it easy to create and format a blog. I strictly use my sony vaio laptop (which is pink by the way). I do use my iphone to read blogs but never to post. I have a canon SLR and a big tripod and take my own photos 90% of the time. For editing photos I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. If I only had photoshop!

2. What technology item is on your wish-list?
I would love to have photo shop to make my photos better. But then again if I had more time to actually pick better locations and lighting they would be better naturally then again I do the best I can with two kids.

3. Through the barrage of posts, tweets, pics, poses, messages, etc... how do you avoid becoming a slave to the constant infiltration of information?
This is tough. I truly love writing my blog but what I love even more is reading the blogs I follow or the excitement I get when I find a new blog I like. But life is always priority and most days I barely get a chance to post let alone visit the lovely people who have commented on my previous post. I try at least once a week to go back and visit my favorites. And I draw the line with blogspot. I do post on chictopia but I rarely am able to visit the ladies that comment or check out the gallery. I use twitter strictly to tweet that I have a new post and same goes for my facebook page.
I simply do not have time and am OK with that.

All in kikaPaprika

I decided to take the risk of dirtying my sample line and wore all kikaPaprika today!
So let me tell you a little about this wonderful company I started working with.
kikaPaprika was founded and run by a mother-daugther team since 2008. They are based in Laguna Beach, CA just a bit north of me. They have about 70 consultants across the country and looking to grow big time.

They are a socially responsible and eco friendly company that uses organic cottons and dyes and create the most amazing high quality clothes that are not only flattering but also comfortable for women of all sizes and age! All pieces are designed and manufactured in U.S.A.

I am proud to be working for a women owned company that is environmentally friendly and supports the economy  of the country I live in.

So, Today's Outfit:
The spring/summer line has 12 custom colors. You can order majority of the pieces in the collection in any of these colors at no extra charge. These items were in my sample line in these colors so I made it a set.
I love the pencil skirt because it is form fitting yet night tight! The length was actually totally suitable without leggings but I was too cold this morning so added the leggings for warmth.

After trying on many different accessories I settled on the blue/silver vintage necklace from my mom's teenage years and the double tortoise cuff bracelets.

These black and tan animal print flats were a perfect match! And add a bit of pattern to the solid ensemble.

Got my hair re-colored last night! I am loving my stylist who is genius in this 'ombre' hair coloring!
You can also see the top I wore underneath has a straight front hem and a longer curved back hem. Such great details!

'Angie' Vest in Camel - $88
'Elyse' top in Black - $74
'Simone' pencil skirt in Camel - $58
Capri Leggings in black - $58
All pieces kikaPaprika
Accessories - cuffs Asos, Necklace vintage, shoes enzo

Put your heart into it

I am so sorry I am behind with the new business things are just so busy right now...
This was my outfit today inspired by a photo on the cover of Anthropologie magazine in Dec 2011:
I love the combination of lace dress with the coat and heeled hikers...

Coat - Old Navy
Lace Dress - from Turkey
Tights, Hikers - Forever 21

YESTERDAY & TODAY:
We went to legoland yesterday and my hubby was off work so he came with. It was a great family time.
In the afternoon my parents took the kids and I conducted my first house party at my friend's house.
I was nervous at first but it went very smooth. You can never tell who is going to be all into it and who is not. The funny thing I packed everything and forgot to take out the pieces I had planned to wear. So I had to dress up at her house and therefore only took a couple quick photos...

And here I am at my first show:
Do check out the Kika Paprika blog for amazing outfit inspirations created using the pieces from Spring Summer collection!
I wish my shoes were in it cause they had gone perfectly with this super cute jacket.
The jacket is called 'sophie'. It has an asymmetrical collar and looks great and feels amazing!
I paired it over their capri leggings.

Precious jewels

Today's bright combo was inspired by a photo in Recession is The New Blonde blog:
This combo immediately made me remember this mustard corduroy mini skirt I had bought from anthropologie on sale 2 years ago during our couple's Vegas trip!

Turtleneck Sweater - Gap
Skirt - Anthropologie
Tights, Necklace - Forever 21
Belt - Betsey Johnson
Booties - Gabriella Rocha

TODAY:
Stayed home this morning so I can catch-up on some house projects like cleaning out the kids closets and packing up clothes that are too small, going through the extra clothes in my car and updating them and laundry and putting away valentine's day decorations and getting ready for tomorrow's show.
My mom came over during kids' nap so we can temporarily hem up the pants I am selling with double sided tape as they are made for a 6 feet women and look silly long on normal people.
When the kids woke-up I took them to a friend's baby shower.

Clear as Day

This was my outfit yesterday (Saturday).... The inspiration came from this photo:
The colors of these photos are not the best. sorry about that...

SATURDAY:
My parents had a surprise proposal for us to take the kids to their gym classes in the morning so we got to lounge around as a treat... Then though had to get ready for our BBQ dinner party which started at 3 PM. My husband's friend and his family with 3 kids came over. The kids got along great so that was nice.
