April Fresh

My outfit for the Easter Egg Hunt today!

The outfit is from Ruche and I fell in love with it when I saw it in their spring lookbook:

I decided to add my mint colored cat eye sunglasses!

TODAY:
Unfortunately I had this super early infusion appointment this morning so it was brutal to wake up so early.
I got home in time to change very quickly and we rushed to the Easter Egg hunt.
Our friend were there and so was my parents and my brother and SIL with my little nephew. Since all our kids are now in the second age group we got to enjoy my nephew's hunt first.
He wouldn't collect the eggs though. Just picked them up and looked at them then threw them down. So cute.
Our kids were of course much more greedy. My daughter though wouldn't believe they were empty and wasted a lot of time opening each one to make sure. They just trade the empty eggs for a bag of treats.
We then went to our friend's house for a big BBQ and spent a nice morning there until nap time.
Afternoon was resting at home and doing laundry.

Urban Boho

Today's outfit was inspired by this Chictopia post from December 2011:
I have to confess the tucking of the skirt did not stay like this for more than half hour.  But it was a cute idea...
I liked the black tights under the nude chiffon skirt. Since it would have been a bit too warm I swapped her grey sweater for my stylemint grey tee instead...

The 'I am almost not crazy' tee from Stylemint...

Tee - Stylemint
Skirt - Romwe

TODAY:
Had another nice playdate this morning at a friend's house. This was the house of my son's big crush. They had a pretty nice size yard and the kids had so much fun.
Afternoon I dropped them off at my mom and stepdad's house and took sometime for myself.
I tried to gather my girls last minute with no success so decided to do some store browsing instead. I haven't been inside a store for so long it seemed. I got to truly walk every single isle of TJ Maxx for example.
But first I went to this thrift store my mom had been raving about called 'My sister's closet'. I could have never gone there with the kids cause as you know thrift stores require you look through everything.
I managed to find some super cool pieces and somehow they all went together. The girls that worked there so amazed that they kept checking the garment like they couldn't believe all this was in their store and they missed it somehow. I am not surprised cause the main item was this super bright neon nylon jacket by nine west shaped very boxy 'shift dress' style. I loved it. I topped it over a black and white gingham checked taffeta mini skirt with these hip pleats which complimented by curveless body perfectly.
Then found this chiffon blouse with a black and white newspaper like print with touches of pink/red roses and tiny touches of yellow so that also went great under the neon jacket. I already had 4 outfits in my outfit list with a neon top so this is going to be the perfect addition. And for $20 it was perfect.
The skirt was $15. The blouse $8. Even found a black and white gingham blouse I had been looking for. It is cotton and not silk like I wanted but for $5.50 it will do for now.
I also did some much needed shopping for the house later from TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Bought nesting end tables, a new hamper and some cute utensils for the kitchen!

Getting 'ziggy' with it

Wearing another cool piece from the Kika Paprika collection today. The top is called 'Deb' and comes in two patterns. This one is called 'ziggy'. I will be wearing this top in a much different combination but today wanted to go all western.

Isn't the print and the colors so pretty! The other print is also very cool and totally different. I will wear that someday too even though it is a bit big on me...

This is another 'cookie lee' piece I sell. I just love the style and the colors of this necklace. It is called 'beachcomber'. :)

I have been dying to wear this hat I bought last spring I think from the british website 'Next'. I love that it is a 'low key' cowboy hat and the trim with aqua and coral buttons is just a perfect compliment to this top...
My husband said he hates the whole 'country' look but then added 'I guess it works on you'! He is coming around to my every changing style from day to day!

TODAY:
Our morning started with a slew of errands starting with Pediatrician follow-up appointment, lunch, grocery stop and gas station stop. Finally made it to my friend's house for her Easter Playdate by 12:30PM.
She had a big gathering planned so worked together to get ready while the kids played. My daughter decided to do her own thing and played by herself for over 2 hours never really engaging with the boys. She was very content though. Probably happy to be not being forced to nap.
By early afternoon the guests arrived. It was a large crowd with lots of kids. My friend set-up this huge table for kids to color and decorate eggs. Followed by a big egg hunt, then dinner and more play time.
It was a fun party.
We came home in time for a quick bath and bedtime as the kids were filthy from playing outside all day long.

This was the first egg she decorated all by herself!

Aren't these adorable?

Just try to ignore me

I have been awaiting some warm weather to start wearing the many combinations I have created in my mind with my Kika Paprika clothing. Today was the perfect day...

I had seen this look on the runway during our collection revealing end of January. I have been wanting to replicate since then. The jacket is the very versatile 'Josie' jacket you can wear many ways. When you top it over a same shade tank top you can pull up the back like a hoodie!

I sell this beautiful cookie lee necklace as well! Goes just perfect...

I missed my roman gladiator sandals...

Jacket - 'Josie' in aqua by Kika Paprika $60
Tank - 'Shane' in aqua by Kika Paprika $46
Skirt - 'Harlow' in citrus by Kika Paprika $65
Necklace - Cookie Lee $36
Bracelets - Forever 21
Sandals - Victoria's Secret
Sunglasses - Karen Walker
Purse - Chloe

TODAY:
Had another great playdate at a friend's house. This is a new friend I met at pre school in the beginning of the spring semester. It was instant clicking and by luck our daughters became such good friends right away. And she has a son too my son's age! We were served a yummy lunch and snacks and kids really enjoyed themselves while we got to know each other better.
I love starting new friendships.
In the afternoon my ex husband (yes, you are reading it correctly) came over for a visit. He is visiting from Florida. We hadn't seen each other for almost 5 years although we stay in touch over email. It was great catching up. I know it sounds weird but both my husband and I are in great terms with our ex'es and to us it is just normal. He told me he had breakfast at my mom's house yesterday! We were married for 6 years together for 11 years and I met him when I was 18. That is a long relationship and I am so happy we will always remain the good friends we always were.
