Home Front

Still playing catch-up. So this was my outfit on WEDNESDAY.  Wore it to the pre-school class...

Inspiration from Jan 2012 issue of In Style Magazine:

This page had another outfit with the same shirt which I wore on THURSDAY but did not do photos. So behind that I got lazy...

I wish these shorts were a bit more looser and longer but with a tunic top and calf high boots they were OK....

Top and Shorts - Forever 21
Leather Vest - BB Dakota (vintage from Mom)
Boots - Steve Madden
Bracelets - Tilly's and Etsy

WEDNESDAY:
It was my husband's actual b-day, so the kids and I went shopping for a special dinner for Daddy.
Bought stuff to make home made pizza's and a chocolate cake.
I had a box of pizza dough but bought some ready dough as well as a back-up. Kids had so much fun putting their own toppings and decorating the cake and licking half the frosting in the process....
It was a mini family party. THey kept asking how and why no one else was coming. They are so used to our large family gatherings. Which will happen on Saturday night. :)

Prints Charming

Finally catching up on my outfit posts from actually this week...
This was my outfit on MONDAY... for a dinner out with the girls followed by a movie...
My friends are so used to me totally dressing up when we go out. Especially since I take every opportunity to wear heels which I can't with the kids. When I got compliments on the outfit at the theater they all chimed in and said 'this is how she dresses all the time!'. It was cute.

Went a bit crazy with the blue eyeshadows apparently...

No inspiration photo for this but pretty much the classic J Crew style was my inspiration. You know mixing patterns (dots and gingham) and styles (menswear vs. sexy) and the whole big necklace over a button up blouse look.

I have been lusting over the metallic silver heels at J Crew which are going for over $230. So I was ecstatic when 'shoedazzle' brought the similar style for under $40. Of course not the soft italian leather the J Crew pair would have been but with my shoe collection these will suffice.

 Blazer - J Crew
Blouse - Ralph Lauren
Belt, necklace - Forever 21
Jeans - Newport News
Purse - TJ Maxx
Heels - Shoedazzle

Wild Cayote

The final outfit from our Wine Tasting Trip in Paso Robles.
This was my outfit Saturday night to the Justing Winery for a 5 course dinner!

My inspiration a Jessica Simpson Ad in a recent fall issue:
I debated whether to get similar red metallic pants from Victoria's secret but felt these bronze ones would be more versatile and again fraction of the cost. I love the way they fit and feel.

I had been looking for a contrast trimmed button up and chose this one which actually has a front tie instead of a front contracts. Also hides any popping button issue you always get with such blouses.

 My gold platform peep toes...
All photos taken inside the guest house we were staying at...

Here are some photos we took of the Girls before going out:

And the group at Justin Winery:

SUNDAY MORNING:
I don't have outfit photos of Sunday as I just wore yoga pants and a top for our very long 5+ hour drive back to San Diego. With a stop at Santa Barbara to drop off friends at the train station then at Ventura to pick up the kids from my in-laws.
Sunday morning though we actually strolled on the grounds of the vineyard we were staying at (Wild Cayote) and had breakfast.
The attention to detail was amazing at this place. The architect, designer owner definitely had fun building and decorating the place...

Below were the B&B rooms of the winery. They painted each window in these lovely easter colors...
