Queen Bee

Last night's outfit for my dear mom's 60th birthday party at our house....

This dress was an amazing spur of the moment find at Anthropologie. On clearance from $200+ down to $50 one on the rack and happened to be my size. It must have been a return cause it was amazing to be still there. I bought it the night I was out with the girls for a birthday dinner a few months ago. It is just the prettiest dress ever.... The flowers are velvet and have 3D effect. so much tulle under the skirt which makes it all puffy. Totally me....

Dress - Anthropologie
Earrings - Cookie Lee
Shoes - Aldo

LAST NIGHT:
After a day of rushing to pre-school than to couple stores we came home and I even managed to fit in my insanity workout out before showering and picking up my son. Than had to bath both kids and get them ready then get myself ready. Enforcements which were family and my best friend arrived early to help with food set-up. We were done early and even ate dinner ourselves before the guests started showing up.
My mom looked gorgeous on her exact 60th birthday! Surrounded by friends and family she was a happy camper.

Get In Line

How do you like my get-up for an outing to country line dancing last night!?
It was a last minute plan to meet up with 4 other pre-school mommies and go out to our one and only country bar on a college night of all nights to dance! You can't beat the $2.50 drinks though!

I don't own cowboy boots (shocking I know!) so I decided to go with these tall boots cause they have just the right amount of heel that made dancing easy...

Blouse, Jeans - H&M
Boots - Pour La Victoria
Hat - NEXT
Purse - Thread Show
Necklace & gold cuff - Forever 21
Bracelets - Bauble Bar

WEDNESDAY:
Majority of the day I was wearing my workout clothes because I had to fit in my insanity workout mid day since I was going out at night. If I already have the clothes on it is easy to fit in the workout then I shower and dress for the occasion. Of course at pre-school though I got at least 2 comments on my unusually 'sporty' outfit.
After pre-school and picking up my son I wasted no time working out, eating lunch and cooking dinner. Than took the kids to their swim class. I dried and styled my hair in the bathroom during their swim class to save time. When we got home I put make-up on and actually had time to eat dinner with the family since I had cooked already before going out.  Met the girls at the bar early so we can participate in the free line dancing lesson. Boy, I wasn't sure if I should have worked out cause the whole night was a workout in itself. So many switch kicks and turns and jumping. I also had way too much clothing on for such activity and was burning up. Next time we know to wear short shorts!
It was college night so we were surrounded by 20 year olds and somehow the only ones that didn't know the dances. I don't know where they learn all the dances in San Diego but they all did and were so good at it. We didn't care though we still tried our best and had a blast.

Preppy in Pastels

It is nice to be back to my routine. The weekend was fun but today was nice to go back to eating healthy drinking lots of water and tonight working out...

Today's combo was inspired by the Tommy Hillfiger Ad from last year I think....
I liked these mixtures of pastels and patterns of stripes and plaids all together...

Jacket - TJ Maxx
Scarf, hat, shirt, belt - Forever 21
Shorts - not sure from where... I haven't worn it in ages...
Sneakers - Rocket Dog

TODAY:
Went to the outdoor class. The weather was super chilly at first but thank goodness warmed up after couple hours. Good thing I had all these layers on at first. At home took inventory of supplies for all the upcoming parties I am hosting in the next couple of weeks and hit the grocery store, than ordering cupcakes and buying gift wrap.
After picking up my son we came home and all of us crashed. My daughter and I took a nap while my son played with puzzles quietly in his room. I think we were all coming down from a fun but tiring weekend! :)
This week is 'recovery week' in my insanity program. Everyday will be doing the same 'core cardio and balance' DVD and it is nice and short and not too brutal. Still you sweat like crazy but you don't feel like throwing up. I am looking forward to see what second segment of this program will bring. Supposed to be really hard and per program supposed to increase our calorie intake too.  That is always nice. :)
