Mainly Mozart

Last night's outfit for going out to the Mozart Festival concert with my friend...
The inspiration was old from November 2012 issue of People Style Watch:

I liked how simple yet sophisticated this combo looked with tuxedo pants, silk blouse a bit statement edgy 'eagle' necklace and a lizard print clutch!

Once you read about my day you will understand that I had so little time to get ready so my hair was not really styled and the make up was quite rushed...

Silk blouse, necklace - Forever 21
Pants - Bebe
Clutch - Charming Charlie's
Wedges - Guess

THURSDAY:
We had a rushed morning once again as my son is in skateboard camp this week that starts at 8:30 am and therefore my husband leaves the house with him by 7:45 AM! I get up an hour early so I can make his snack and lunch and fit in the 'summer school work' we have started.
This morning after they left worked on my daughter's summer work then got ready and left for the library. We signed up for the summer reading program, and she attended story time. All the books I had pre-reserved were waiting for us on the hold shelf. It was great. Our goal is to go every week and get 7 new books for the kids from their reading lists.
After story time we came home for lunch then went out again to drop off my daughter at my mom's and picked up my Dad to go to his Dr appointment. We then had tea and came back to his house and I started cleansing/organizing his kitchen. Only finished one counter top in one hour. It is going to be a big project.
Came home literally with only 30 minutes to get ready and head to once again downtown!
I haven't been downtown for so long and this week 2 nights in a row!
Met up with my friend for happy hour than we went to Mainly Mozart festival concert.

I had forgotten how much I love classical music. It truly is food for the soul. With no visual stimulation or lyrics to accompany the music you truly absorb the notes and the melody. I was taken back to my upbringing and how my Grandpa played classical music every sunday morning for breakfast. How they took me to every concert, performance, theater and museum exhibitions when I was a teenager. It is truly their influence that I love art so much and am so motivated to expose my own kids like they did to me.
I am also going to dig up my classical CDs and listen to them in the car. It was a great night....

FRIDAY:
The kids were at my mom's so it was soooo nice to sleep in this morning but then I went into high gear to get ready making lunches for myself, my daughter, my son and my Dad. Plus getting all the beach gear ready. First went and picked up my Dad then met my parents and daughter at my son's skateboard camp. Of course he got cold feet and would only skate down a tiny ramp but it was still nice to see him and his whole class.

Then dropped off my Dad at this house and took my daughter to beach where we met our play group and a really nice day at this beach that is right by the ferry boat pier with a view of our beautiful city's downtown skyline.

Yesterday's outfit taking the kids to an outdoor jumpy play park...

The inspiration was from People Style Watch's May 2013 issue:

Wedges - Victoria's Secret
Necklace - Cookie Lee
Purse - Chloe
Sunglasses - Karen Walker

WEDNESDAY:
My playgroup had scored group on coupons for this outdoor inflatable park near a local mall so we met there. It was a lot cooler than we imagined. The whole place was fenced and covered with artificial grass carpet so the kids can take off their shoes once and walk around in socks in the whole area. They had lounge chairs in the sun and tables and benches with umbrellas for the adults. It was actually quite relaxing.  That is of course if your kids were old enough to run around on their own. The kids had quite fun and burned a lot of energy.
We went to pick up my son afterwards early afternoon then took them to their swim lesson.
My son is getting so advanced. He was working on his back stroke which he can do the entire length of the pool and back!

After swim class they were quiet tired but we stopped by my Dad's house to say goodbye to my brother, SIL and my little nephew as they head off to Boston for Harvard. The kids played so cute with their cousin. We are going to miss them.

After good-byes we got home and served the dinner I had already cooked. After eating quickly I got ready to go downtown to take free salsa dancing lessons with a few preschool mommy friends!
It was a last minute decision to go out and I kept thinking about flaking but the fact that I have never learned to salsa dance I was intrigued. Of course I was totally late as my son had a lego malfunction and my husband was too tired to trouble shoot a 15 step problem I stayed to fix some of it. It is hard to say no cause I love legos and am so glad he is into them too. It is our thing. :)

So glad I went. All my friends were late so I wasn't really late after all. The DJ who was also the instructor was great and quite funny. They lined up the girls on one side and guys on the other and showed us the moves for each partner than partnered us up. Every move they made us rotate and change partners. Half the time we were partnered with other ladies as there were of course more girls than guys. But we were just thinking what a great place for guys to pick up girls. You just got to know how to dance. There were very mis matched couples on the floor. It was fun to watch.

Cream and Blush

Today's combo was inspired from this photo....

I liked the mix of simple dress with blush jacket and boho necklaces... I added the hat....

Dress & most of the necklaces - from Turkey
Jacket - Forever 21
Sandals - TJ Maxx

TODAY:
We didn't quite make it to our outdoor class today as my daughter is having toilet issues and didn't want to risk a public park and pool. We did go to Target though as I had quite a list of things I was looking for. Found most of them. It was random items like super large shovels that kids seem to love when we go to the beach. Extra rash guards for the kids as it seems we might be doing a beach outing more than once a week. More sunscreen (we use so much everyday). And bike shorts for my daughter to add under her dresses as she is a little tomboy in her actions but loves wearing sundresses.
Today I had a set out for her to wear but she really wanted to wear this t-shirt that changes color in the sun (from my mom and stepdad's vacation). And here she is...

My son is in skateboard camp all this week so we don't have him during the day. I might sneak there his last day to take some photos and see how he is doing...
After I picked him up today though both kids had a nice swim in our own pool and both spontaneously thanked me for the dinner I served which was salmon (they call it pink fish) rice and salad. :)

I loved this idea of pure pink mixing hot pink with pastels....

SATURDAY:
Went to my good friend's son's birthday party which was themed lake fishing. It was quite a drive but a gorgeous spot and a very unique experience for the kids. My hubby was in a tennis tournament so had to do that solo. A bit difficult as we actually got stuck in the middle of the lake and had to be pulled back but it was a great adventure....

those are live worms for fishing... (yuck!)

SATURDAY NIGHT:
Went to my friend's sister's house for a joint b-day celebration dinner and game night!!!
