Medieval Times

Today's outfit to Medieval Times in Buena Park, CA!

It was somewhat inspired by Pacific Atlantic:

Jacket - Gap
Vest - Eddie Bauer
Top - Forever 21
Shorts - TJ Maxx
Boots - Steve Madden
Purse - Shoedazzle

TODAY:
The kids had an early swim class then we hung out at home doing summer work and clean-up by noon we left the house for our drive with our friends to the Medieval Times dinner.
We carpooled with our friends so filled our mini van to full capacity of 8 passengers! Unfortunately though there was awful traffic and me and my friend were each between two sets of kids and had to entertain them. When we finally got there though we met up with our other friends so our group of 16 was complete with 8 adults and 8 kids. It was a very cool set-up and once the grown ups had drinks in their hands and the kids with their slushies in the knights cups we all relaxed.
Had the kids sit at the row of table in front of us and the parents in the back. It was so fun to watch their reaction to the knights show as well as eating with no utensils.  My son who eats like a teenage of course not only finished each course but actually had the courage to ask their own waiter for another slice of the garlic bread all by himself!
They each had light-up swords and were practicing their skills after the show.
It was a very fun night.

Greatest Show on Earth

Today's combo was loosely based on this photo I snapped in my friend's 'Burda' magazine from Russia. My grandmother used to get these magazines when I was in high school in Turkey and we had a tailor come to the house once a month and I could pick a piece from it to get it made. Brought back so many memories....

Notice the slight change in my cut (and color).... Total commitment to short hair this time by going very short in the back.... I love the drastic edginess from the side..

Sweater - Costco (!!!!! I KNOW)
Skirt & purse - from Turkey
Sandals - Boutique 9
Bracelets - Target

TODAY:
Today was a busy 3 activity day.... Started with story time and craft at the library. Then we went bowling again. They have this incredible deal which is $1.50 for rentals and $1.50 per game! Kids are totally into it and love to compete against each other.
Then we stopped at Kohl's for some back to school shopping and headed home for a quick rest and change and dinner then it was to the Circus with the kids and my Dad! It was a late show so the kids didn't go to bed until 10 PM. Lets see how that plays out in the morning. Unfortunately our kids are not the type that wake up late if they go to bed late. They are the type that wake up around 6 AM every morning regardless of what they go to bed!

A hundred thousand things to see

Today's three layered combo was inspired by Bloomingdale's spring/summer catalog:

I tried to find a t-shirt that had a large graphic that matched a pop color of the blouse but did not get so lucky. This kind of worked not exactly what I wanted though....

Vest, blouse, t-shirt, necklace, belt - Forever 21
Pants - Gap
Heels - Guess
Bracelets - Bauble Bar

TODAY:
Another busy fun day. Met our group at the Birch Aquarium which is actually pretty close in my area of the town. We used to have family passes there a few years ago but hadn't been since then. My daughter of course had no recollection. When we were going through the place I remembered how we used to bring the kids there when they were babies and complain how we had to lift them up to see the tanks cause they were too high up. Now of course they are so tall and we reminisced over how fast the years have gone by and how long we have known each other since our oldest ones were only 3-5 months old!
It is also nice cause now the kids are old enough where we can let them run around as long as we have a visual on them and we can all seat them at one table to eat and sit at a seperate table ourselves. Kind of nice. :)
In the afternoon I took the kids to my mom's so mom could take my daughter to ballet class while my step dad took my son to the summer reading magic show at the library while I got my hair cut and colored. I then grocery shopped for our house and my dad's and picked up the kids and went to my Dad to eat a quick dinner with him and came home just in time for bedtime!

I LOVE THIS POSE OF HER!!!!

Our crazy group of kids....

And the outnumbered brave mommies....

The gorgeous view....
