Skirt the Issue

Today's outfit was inspired by this Chictopia Look:

I loved this  mix of red plaid coat over white skirt with white scarf and black tights….

Well I figured I wouldn't always wear the coat so wore the 'cat' sweater underneath which was actually another outfit inspiration so two birds in one shot….
The base outfit was inspired by Lucky's Nov 2013 issue:

I really do love this skirt from Zara. It is super thick material and holds its shape and never gets wrinkled. Plus the length is perfect. Mini but not too much and since it is so thick no wind can blow it off… The waist is smooth as well so very comfortable...
Coat - Old Navy
Scarf, Sweater, Tights - Forever 21
Skirt - Zara
Booties - Steve Madden

THURSDAY:
Went to my daughter's ballet class than because it was so close went directly to my dentist appointment which took a lot longer than I imagined but my daughter sat there very nicely. She started with eating all her snacks. Making a few drawings then moved onto her ipad…
We then had lunch together and came home for just a bit then picked up my son and stopped at the library before coming home for homework and packing and laundry…
My parents came over with a fully cooked dinner and my brother cousin stopped by for a nice family dinner before the kids went to bed….

A blue streak

Today's blue combo was inspired by I think a photo I saved from Bloomingdale's lookbook
I think this is a 'Halogen' sweater. They have really cute ones…. I tried to create a focal point with the necklace instead….

My little man jumps in for one of the poses...

Sweater, Jeans - Forever 21
Booties - Steve Madden
Necklace - cool buy from a fashion show

WEDNESDAY:
It was 'blue' day at the preschool hence the blue sweater…
My day was quite crazy though… We started the morning with an 8 AM dentist appointment for my son. I had promised to take the daughter of my friend who just had a baby to preschool so her husband brought her over to the dentist's office. I took the three kids and drove to my son's school to drop him off an hour late. Then we drove to pre-school. Afterwards bought lunch and went to my friend's house to see the baby and drop off her daughter. Then it was off to my son's school to pick him and his friend up and bring them over to our house for a playdate. After snacks they begged me to help with rainbow loom making rattle snake charms. Before we could finish though we had to do go to my son's swim practice. I didn't have the heart to end their playdate early so took him with us then they continued playing after we came back home. His mom came over for tea and brought her daughter and the girls got along great too. I managed to cook a dinner during all this chaos and the house didn't look that bad despite all the playdates.
Overall quite a successful day…

A Little Rugged

Today's casual and chic outfit was inspired by a look from a site called 'Fashion Diva Design':
To be honest I actually don't remember when I visited this site but I apparently did and saved this look….

Thins grungy look was very popular among the mommies at the playground today and so were all the feathers and feather motif I had going. This Tee was in my dad's closet with tags on. I don't do regular tee's but first of al it was something of his I can wear and second it had a cool graphic design...

Hat - Lucky
Blouse, Jeans - Forever 21
Tee - Levi's
Boots - Target
Purse - DKNY
Sunglasses - Betsey Johnson

TUESDAY:
Went to the outdoor class which was at a public playground of YMCA followed by a super cheap ($5) 1 hour gymnastics lesson at the YMCA. Except they were completely unprepared for our large class and it was chaos for a while. Ver few of us have older (4.5 to 5 year olds) so we were fine as they took our kids first and started. But the ones with smaller kids plus carrying a baby in a sack strapped to them those mommies had it tough as they had to follow the kids around and had to wait for quite a bit of time. I don't think our teacher will ever do a field trip there again.
My daughter though was ecstatic about this rose gold medal she got covered with rhinestones. She wouldn't stop talking about it.

Afterwards we came home and I finally got the motivation to clean out and organize my kitchen and garage pantry closets.   It had gotten so bad not only did I not know what was in it I was afraid to go through the shelves so kept buying the same stuff. We now know we have about enough pasta and pasta sauce and cereal to last us rest of the year!
After all this cleaning it was already time to pick up my son from school then back to the house for homework and cooking dinner and baths and bed time.

Moodboard

Today's outfit was inspired by another mommy blog 'Mom Fashion World':

Mine is the southern CA version with a cotton short sleeved trench instead of a coat….
Today was 'wear yellow' day at my daughter's pre-school so it was perfect….

Coat, Scarf - TJ Maxx
Top - Target
Pants - Skinny Ponte pants by kikaPaprika
Boots - Shoedazzle
Earrings - Cookie Lee

TODAY:
Took my son early so he can be part of the run club staring line up which he really likes now and starts pestering me 15 minutes before we have to leave. The only kid probably that begs 'I want to to go to school now'… Afterwards I came home to finish cleaning up and putting away laundry then went to preschool. It was my daughter's sharing day. She took her furby and the ipad to show how she feeds her etc… The kids went nuts over it…

Afterwards I dropped off my daughter at my mom's then went to my son's class to volunteer. Did a few photocopies than ran the math station. We came home for snack and homework then went to his swim practice then back to home for dinner. My friend is over as we catch up on our TV shows….
